  • As towing requirements and conditions can vary significantly there is no right or wrong answer although the recommendation is to choose a gear that maintains optimum torque while not compromising fuel economy.
  • The vehicle is designed to tow in the “D” position, the Transmission Control Module will then determine the appropriate gear required depending on:

    1. Engine load
    2. Vehicle speed
    3. Throttle position
  • As a new vehicle it is recommended not to tow until the vehicle has driven 800km. Please refer to the Owner’s and Driver’s Manual for more information.

  • Each LSS function may also be disabled individually via the MID. Please refer to the Owner’s and Driver’s manual for further details.

22MY D-MAX onwards models and 22MY MU-X onwards models feature a Lane Support System (LSS) Switch which disables all LSS functions: Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK), and in models with Automatic transmission, Lane Keep Assist (LKA). In 22MY D-MAX models, these functions may be disabled with a long push (at least 2 sec) of the LSS Switch (also known as the LKA toggle button on the steering wheel). To re-enable these functions, a long push on the LSS Switch is required (at least 2 sec). Each LSS function may also be disabled individually via the MID. Please refer to the Owner’s and Driver’s manual for further details.  It is important to note that the Lane Support System features will all default back to the “on” setting at the next ignition OFF/ON cycle.

Should you have a concern with the functionality of the Lane Support System in your 21MY-onwards D-MAX or MU-X please contact your local authorised Isuzu UTE Dealer.

  • The Hands-Free Power Tailgate offers 23MY-onwards Isuzu MU-X owners a convenient way to access the rear of their vehicle at times when you may not have a spare hand. We have created a handy video that demonstrates how to use this feature - the video can be accessed on the "Helpful Guides" section of the Get the Most Out of Your Isuzu page.

  • For 19MY models and earlier, if the vehicle is brought to a stop with the brake pedal, this is the intended design of the cruise control function. The D-MAX and MU-X will not resume to the previous pre-set speed. Please refer to the Owner’s and Driver’s Manual for more information on this function.

Combining convenience with safety, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop-and-Go traffic functionality is standard on all 21MY-onward MU-X variants and 21MY-onward D-MAX variants fitted with an automatic transmission. When active, ACC will accelerate and decelerate the vehicle with the flow of traffic all the way to the pre-determined speed, while maintaining a pre-designated distance from the vehicle ahead. ACC will decelerate the vehicle to a complete stop with the flow of traffic ahead, remaining stationary for up to five-minutes on MU-X and up to two-seconds on D-MAX—before reaccelerating with the flow of traffic all the way back up to the predetermined max-set speed.

ACC when combined with Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) at speeds above 60kph, will actively maintain the vehicle's position in the centre of the lane. Please refer to the Owner’s and Driver’s Manual for more information on this function.

  • Replacement keys can be sourced and purchased from any Authorised Isuzu UTE Dealer. Locate your most convenient Authorised Isuzu UTE Dealer here: https://isuzuute.com.au/find-a-dealer.

  • For vehicle models earlier than 16.5MY, they are not fitted with a DPF.

16.5MY and later vehicle models are fitted with a Diesel Particulate Diffuser (DPD) that purifies Particulate Matter in the exhaust gas.

  • Normally the DPD regeneration occurs automatically when Particulate Matter has accumulated to a predetermined level, during extended periods of vehicle operation. In some circumstances it may be necessary to perform an Operator Regeneration when the DPD Operation Regeneration Indicator Light flashes. Please refer to the Owner’s and Driver’s Manual for more information on the process specifics.

  • To perform the Operator Regeneration procedure, drive at a constant speed of more than 50km/h. Regeneration is complete when the vehicle has been driven until the indicator light goes off after having changed from flashing to continuous illumination. Always drive safely and in accordance with road and traffic conditions. Please refer to the Owner’s and Driver’s Manual for more information on the process specifics.

21MY onwards vehicle models are fitted with ELR (Emergency Locking Retractors) which will allow the seatbelt to extend and retract with passenger movement, however it will lock up in the event of sudden stopping or an accident.

  • No, it does not. All Isuzu D‑MAX and MU‑X vehicles sold and distributed by Isuzu UTE Australia Pty Ltd utilise a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) manufactured by an alternative supplier to those affected by the compulsory Takata recall.

  • D-MAX

For vehicle models earlier than 17MY the vehicle electrical system is a constant voltage charge system with an output of 12v – 90 A.

For 17MY onwards the vehicle electrical system is a variable voltage Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) with an output of 12v – 90 A.

    MU-X

  • Trailer Sway Control (TSC) is an extension of the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) which has been a standard feature in DMAX and MUX since 12MY vehicles. The system constantly monitors the vehicle for potential "sway" conditions by means of a "Yaw Rate G Sensor". If the system detects a sway condition (the sideways Gforce exceeds predetermined parameters) and the vehicle speed is over 65km/h the system will reduce engine power and apply the brakes to individual vehicle wheels to counteract the sway and if possible bring the vehicle under control in a straight line. In this situation the system will also bring the vehicle/trailer brake lights on.

It is important to note that the TSC feature, although operating as indicated above, may not be able to overcome the effects of an inappropriately loaded or setup caravan or trailer. To maximise the safety of any vehicle/trailer combination it is recommended that the weight distribution and setup up of individual caravans or trailers is as per manufacturer or industry recommendations.

For a list of approved Isuzu UTE Genuine Accessories, please consult your nearest Authorised Isuzu UTE Dealer or the Isuzu UTE Australia website for a list of both D-MAX and MU-X Genuine Accessories.

Wheel alignments and balances are affected by normal operating conditions such as road surfaces, the type of driving or even the accessories fitted to the front of the vehicle which will alter the wheel alignment/balance on a vehicle over time.
