During the inaugural match of the Liberty A-League Women's season on Saturday the 14th October, a crowd of 11,471 spectators gathered at Allianz Stadium to witness Cortnee Vine's triumphant return, following her remarkable performance in the FIFA Women's World Cup that elevated her to national hero status. This attendance figure surpassed the record previously set during the 2022-23 Grand Final.
Additionally, enthusiasm for the Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s competition has been stoked by the unforgettable grand final of the 2022-23 season, etching itself into the history books with a record breaking 6-1 grand final win as the Central Coast Mariners defeated Melbourne City. The season kicked off on the 20th of October with an electrifying start, marked by a significant upset where the reigning champions, the Central Coast Mariners, unexpectedly fell to Adelaide United. This surprising result sets the stage for what is sure to be an exciting and unpredictable season to come.
