Every Isuzu D-MAX includes a comprehensive suite of safety features that operate automatically and independently to protect you. Isuzu’s Intelligent Driver Assistance System◊ (IDAS) technology which encapsulates passive and active safety systems, is standard across every D-MAX model. Using state-of-the-art sensors and multiple cameras, the D-MAX constantly monitors your surrounding environment.
ANCAP 5-STAR SAFETY RATING
A 5-star ANCAP rating is the pinnacle of safety a vehicle can achieve in Australia. The Isuzu D-MAX achieved a 5-star rating against ANCAP’s stringent testing criteria, making it one of the safest vehicles on Australian roads. The D-MAX BLADE variant is unrated.
ACTIVE SAFETY FEATURES
Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
An audible warning sounds and red warning lights flash on the dashboard when an obstacle is detected in your path. If your D-MAX detects a potential collision is imminent, emergency braking is applied automatically.
Electronic Stability Control
ESC kicks-in when under or oversteering occurs and helps restore control
Trailer Sway Control (TSC)
TSC will apply brakes to individual vehicle wheels to help bring the trailer safely back under control.
LANE DRIVING FEATURES
Lane Departure Prevention
Lane Departure Prevention is activated if the vehicle is about to depart from the driver's lane. The system assists by steering the vehicle in the correct direction to help prevent lane departure. This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
Lane Departure Warning
Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver when the vehicle starts to drift out of the current lane. This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
Emergency Lane Keeping
Unique to the D-MAX in the 1 tonne ute market, if there is danger of collision with vehicles approaching from behind in an adjacent lane, the vehicle will help avoid the collision by preventing lane departure. This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
Lane Keep Assist (LKA)
The Lane Keep Assist (LKA) system is designed to detect road lane markings and assist steering operation by keeping your vehicle in its lane while Adaptive Cruise Control is engaged. This feature can also be disabled via the Lane Support System (LSS) Switch.
Lane Support System (LSS) Switch
The Lane Support System (LSS) Switch, located on the steering wheel allows the driver to toggle the LSS on-or-off by pressing and holding the Switch for two seconds. The LSS includes Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK) and Lane Keep Assist (LKA) on automatic models. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) will still function regardless if the LKA is disabled via the Switch.

PARKING SAFETY FEATURES
Reversing Camera
Experience higher image quality and a brighter view with the D-MAX's improved digital reversing camera. Hydrophobic coating prevents water and dirt from obscuring vision, and a wide horizontal and vertical field of view ensures a clear picture of your surroundings. The reversing camera's dynamic guidelines and exclusive zones makes it easy to navigate tricky parking situations with confidence.
Front & Rear Parking Sensor
Provides instantaneous feedback regarding nearby obstacles at low speed on X-TERRAIN (LS-M, LS-U & LS-U+ Ute models have rear park assist sensors only).
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RTCA)
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) monitors your surrounding area while reversing into traffic, providing visual and audible warnings should an object approach from the left or right. (RCTA will automatically disable when a towing device is connected to the vehicle via a genuine Tow Bar Wiring Harness).
Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RTCB)
Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RTCB) monitors your surrounding area while reversing into traffic. It will automatically brake if an object approaches from the left or right.

TRAFFIC SAFETY FEATURES
Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC)
When Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) detects a new speed zone, the IACC changes the vehicle speed and can activate the brakes when brake lights are detected ahead.
Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)
Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) provides a visual warning in your side mirrors when an obstacle is approaching in your blind spot. (BSM will automatically disable when a towing device is connected to the vehicle via a genuine Tow Bar Wiring Harness).
Traffic Sign Recognition
The D-MAX recognises traffic signs, displaying information such as speed limits in the Multi-Information Display on the dash for easy reference.
Intelligent Speed Limiter
When active, the Intelligent Speed Limiter will prevent the vehicle from exceeding the signed speed limit.
